FRAGRANCE NOTES
Top Notes - The first impression.
Top notes are the first scents you notice after smelling a fragrance.
They’re usually fresh and bright.
Middle Notes - The heart of the fragrance.
Also called heart notes, these emerge as the top notes fade.
They add depth and character.
Base Notes - The lasting impression.
Base notes form the foundation of a fragrance and reveal themselves once the candle has been burning for a little while. Rich and deep, they linger.
Fragrance Families
Fragrance families make it easier to understand the character of a scent. From soft florals to deep woods, each family creates a different mood.
Floral
Soft, romantic and expressive. Think rose, jasmine, peony and neroli — ranging from fresh and airy to powdery, sweet or spicy.
Fruity
Juicy, bright and playful. Notes like berries, fig, plum and cherry bring sweetness and vibrancy to a fragrance.
Gourmand
Rich, comforting and indulgent. Inspired by edible notes like vanilla, caramel, coffee, cream and baked goods, gourmands are warm and addictive.
Musky
Soft, clean and skin-like. Modern musks can feel powdery, creamy or freshly washed, adding subtle warmth and smoothness.
Woody
Grounded, warm and sophisticated. Cedarwood, sandalwood, vetiver and patchouli create depth, earthiness and lasting warmth.
Fresh + Aquatic
Clean, airy and energising. Citrus, sea salt, watery accords and light woods create a crisp, breezy feel.
Amber
Warm, sensual and enveloping. Amber, vanilla, resins, spices and woods create rich, luxurious fragrances with depth and longevity.
Citrus
Bright, sparkling and uplifting. Bergamot, lemon, grapefruit and mandarin bring an immediate burst of freshness and energy.
