LOOKING AFTER YOUR AZZU
A LITTLE CARE GOES A LONG WAY. FOLLOWING THESE SIMPLE RITUALS WILL HELP YOU GET THE BEST POSSIBLE BURN, FRAGRANCE AND LIFE FROM YOUR AZZU CANDLE.
OUR CANDLES ARE HAND-POURED IN AUSTRALIA USING A NATURAL COCONUT AND SOY WAX BLEND, PREMIUM FRAGRANCE AND DOUBLE COTTON WICKS DESIGNED TO CREATE A BEAUTIFUL, EVEN BURN AND FILL YOUR SPACE WITH SCENT.
1. MAKE THE FIRST BURN COUNT
On your first burn, allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface of the candle, reaching close to the edges of the vessel. This helps establish an even melt pool and prevents tunnelling throughout the life of your candle.
For best results, allow approximately 2–4 hours for your first burn.
2. TRIM BOTH WICKS
Before each burn, trim both wicks to approximately 5–6 mm.
Keeping your wicks trimmed helps create a cleaner, steadier flame while reducing excess smoke, soot and wick mushrooming. If the flame appears too large or flickers excessively, extinguish the candle, allow it to cool, trim the wicks and relight.
3. LET IT COOL
Always allow your candle to cool completely before relighting, moving the vessel or trimming the wicks.
Once cool, gently remove any mushrooming or carbon build-up from the tips of the wicks before your next burn.
4. KEEP THE WAX CLEAN
Keep the wax pool free from wick trimmings, matches and other debris.
A clean wax pool helps your candle burn safely and beautifully from beginning to end.
5. FIND THE PERFECT SPOT
Burn your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, open windows, fans and air-conditioning.
Keep candles away from direct sunlight and other heat sources when not in use, as prolonged heat or sunlight may affect the wax, fragrance and appearance of the candle.
6. GIVE THEM SPACE
If burning more than one candle at a time, leave adequate space between each vessel. Candles positioned too closely together can generate excess heat and affect the way they burn.
7. KNOW WHEN TO SAY GOODBYE
For safety, discontinue use when approximately 10 mm of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel.
Never burn your candle all the way to the base. The vessel may become increasingly hot as the wax level becomes lower.
A FEW MORE THINGS
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from children, pets and anything that may catch fire. Never move a candle while it is burning or while the wax is still liquid.
